In the annual selection results announced at the China Automation+Digitalization Industry Annual Conference (CAIMRS 2024) today, ABB won five annual product innovation awards and remained among the top 50 automation+digitalization brands of the year, fully demonstrating ABB’s strong innovation strength and leading position in industrial automation and digital transformation. At the same time, Yang Rong, Vice President of ABB Electric China, gave a speech at the annual conference forum, sharing ABB’s contribution to building low-carbon parks and empowering sustainable industrial development through green and innovative electrical solutions.
As a global technology leader, ABB adheres to the dual wheel drive of digitalization and sustainable development, and integrates cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and industrial Internet into its electrical and automation product portfolio. It continues to create new value for customers in the fields of power, industry, transportation, and infrastructure, and supports China to accelerate the development of new quality productivity while enabling industry digitalization and low-carbon transformation. In this selection, ABB OptiFactTM modular software platform and ABB Cloud Drive both won the “Digital Innovation Award”; The new generation of measurement products equipped with advanced Ethernet physical layer technology, M2QA IE5 motors, and Emax 2/E high-voltage air circuit breakers have won the “Automation Innovation Award” in the detection, drive and execution, and distribution categories. Among them:
The latest ABB OptiFactTM modular software platform launched in 2023 simplifies data collection, visualization, and analysis in automated production facilities, enabling users to easily collect, manage, and analyze data from hundreds of factory equipment, including ABB robots, providing better visibility for factory operations. OptiFact is a supplement to ABB Robotics’ existing digital solution suite, which can save up to 25% of data collection and analysis time and help factory operations increase production efficiency by up to 20%.
ABB Cloud Drive integrates cloud connectivity, cloud monitoring, cloud diagnostics, cloud prediction, cloud optimization, and cloud archiving functions. With a connection based digital solution at its core, it is compatible with multiple ABB Drive products and provides customers with a digital experience that goes beyond product value. This digital product optimizes equipment performance, shortens downtime, saves energy consumption, reduces safety accidents, lowers system costs, and improves production efficiency through digital operation and maintenance. It is widely used in industries such as food and beverage, chemical, metallurgical, HVAC, and water.
The ABB new generation measurement product equipped with advanced physical layer technology of Ethernet, which was globally launched at last year’s CIIE, has a communication rate of 10 Mbps and can be seamlessly integrated into the Ethernet of hazardous areas at the bottom of factories, fully tapping and releasing the asset value of on-site data. Instruments equipped with this technology can be deployed in harsh environments and hazardous areas such as chemical, oil and gas industries, and achieve long-distance, high-speed, stable and reliable transmission. They can be connected from the site to the cloud, promoting the implementation of industrial Internet of Things applications and accelerating the digital and intelligent transformation of modern factories.
M2QA motor is a mid to high end universal low-voltage three-phase asynchronous cast iron motor developed by ABB for the Chinese market. Its efficiency reaches the first level energy efficiency level of the national standard GB18613-2020, and it has the advantages of high efficiency, energy saving, reliability, durability, and flexible design. This product is suitable for various complex application requirements and can provide customized design solutions. It is newly upgraded based on ABB’s mature M2QA platform, with significantly improved energy efficiency and further optimized performance, which can effectively reduce carbon emissions.
ABB’s new generation Emax 2/E high-voltage air circuit breaker conforms to the trend of digitalization, intelligence, and low carbonization of power equipment in the new power system, and supports the development of new energy fields such as wind power and solar energy through advanced technical performance. Its series framework current can reach 6300A, which can not only protect electrical circuits and ensure long-term stable operation of equipment in the fields of power generation and distribution, but also reduce energy consumption and waste according to user needs. It is a major “weapon” to empower the industry’s green and low-carbon transformation.
Yang Rong, Vice President of ABB Electric China and Head of Sales for ABB Electric China’s Smart Buildings and Smart Power Market, delivered a speech titled “Empowering Industrial Green Development with Low Carbon Parks” at the main forum of the event, emphasizing the importance of China’s green industrial development and low-carbon energy transformation as a global manufacturing powerhouse. As the core of industrial enterprise agglomeration, the low-carbon development of industrial parks is particularly crucial. ABB focuses deeply on energy transformation and energy efficiency improvement in the process of sustainable development, continuously empowering intelligent manufacturing and new industrialization construction with advanced digital and low-carbon technologies, and opening up a path for the transformation of low-carbon parks.

In his speech, he used ABB Xiamen Industrial Center as an example to introduce how to create a demonstration model for low-carbon transformation in the park. This project significantly reduces carbon emissions and improves energy efficiency by adopting an innovative energy regulation system and integrating the application of new energy generation and storage systems. It draws a replicable and scalable low-carbon blueprint, achieving 50% clean energy substitution for the park’s electricity and saving costs. It is expected to reduce 13400 tons of carbon emissions annually, clearly demonstrating how ABB’s intelligent digital technology can turn low-carbon vision into reality. On February 28th, the project was included in the list of typical cases of energy green and low-carbon transformation announced by the National Energy Administration, becoming a model for the development of green and low-carbon transformation.
CAIMRS 2024 is the 20th China Automation+Digitalization Market Seminar held by China Industrial Control Network, and also a grand annual conference of China’s industrial automation industry. It brings together experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives from the global automation and digitalization fields to discuss industry development trends, technological innovation, and future development directions. As an important part of the CAIMRS Annual Ceremony, this year’s selection combines user voting, market research, big data analysis, and expert selection to select, record, and disseminate innovations and innovations that drive the strong development of Chinese manufacturing.
